Courtney Mattison

BIOGRAPHY

Courtney Mattison’s intricately hand-crafted ceramic sculptural work visualizes climate change through the fragile beauty of marine life. It has been commissioned and exhibited in the United States, Europe, and Asia by patrons such as Christian Dior Couture, Vacheron Constantin, Boucheron, and Hyatt. Her exhibition history includes solo museum shows in the U.S. and group shows such as “Iris Van Herpen. Sculpting the Senses,” organized by the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris. The United Nations Postal Administration featured Mattison’s work on a stamp commemorating the 50th anniversary of Earth Day. Her work has appeared on the covers of Beaux Arts, American Craft, and Nature, as well as Smithsonian Magazine, ELLE Décoration France, and the BBC World Service. She lives and works in San Francisco.
