Cristiano Mangovo is an Angolan contemporary artist (born in Cabinda in 1982) who lives and works between Lisbon and Luanda. With training in painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kinshasa and experience in scenography and performance, his work combines expressionism and surrealism with powerful social commentary. His canvases and installations often depict distorted human and animal forms, vibrant colors, and recurring two-mouthed faces—symbols of power, inequality, and environmental conflict. Through his art, Mangovo critiques systems of domination and advocates for ecological balance, cultural memory, and social justice
