BIOGRAPHY

Delman Matola (b. 1996) is a Botswana-born, Malawian visual artist known for his surreal “blue world” of blue-faced characters. His paintings draw on personal memories and experiences of displacement, belonging, and resilience. Through distorted figures and vivid colors, he explores identity, vulnerability, and the masks people wear. Rooted in both Botswana and Malawian cultural narratives, his work remains deeply personal and emotionally charged. Matola’s art has gained growing international attention for its poetic and contemporary reflection on the human condition.
